Alexandra Gambrill Curry is the daughter of an Austrian mother and an English father, adventurers who left Europe to explore faraway places. Born in Canada, she is a graduate of Wellesley College and has lived in Singapore, Taiwan, Austria, and the United States and traveled the world with a great appetite for the delights of many countries. She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband, Kevin, a Miniature Schnauzer named Emma, and a perpetually hungry dog named Cache, who is an adored and adoring immigrant rescue from the mountains of Panama. In her past lives, Alexandra has been a teacher, a model, a banker, and an accountant, and she has two sons who are, to her immense pride, leading lives filled with fascinating turns that span the globe.
The Courtesan is her first novel, and Alexandra is eternally grateful to the Fates—who control the thread of life—and to the many guardian angels who have helped along the way.
